ISAGER SILK MOHAIR, with its blend of silk and mohair, is a beautiful, soft and shiny yarn that has a shaggy structure. We primarily use it in knits with other yarns, but it is also beautiful on its own, especially in simple designs. Structured knitting will not be seen in the shaggy yarn unless it is knitted together with a smoother yarn.
Silk Mohair is shaggy, and a shaggy yarn will always shed, both during knitting and in use. As a rule, the shedding will decrease over time, but a certain amount of “shedding” must be expected. At Isager, we pay close attention to making sure that our yarn is made from long mohair fibers of the finest quality, which reduces shedding.

Wool should be washed by hand unless you have a washing machine with a very gentle wool program that can wash in cold water. To avoid pilling the finished knitted model, use only a little soap. Use an approved wool detergent. Keep the same temperature throughout the washing and rinsing process, and do not wash above 28 degrees. The knitted model can be lightly spun after washing. Place the model in a laundry bag or pillowcase. After spinning, lay the model out to dry on towels.
It is not necessary to wash a wool model often. Often it will be enough to hang it to air in humid weather. Cotton yarns and blended yarns with linen and bamboo can withstand higher washing temperatures, but we recommend the same washing as the wool yarn.
