frequently asked questions

Where are you located?
You’ll find us in downtown Media, PA—just off State Street. Come say hi!

Do I need to know how to sew or knit to take a class?
Nope! Many of our classes are beginner-friendly. Check the class description—if it says “no experience needed,” we mean it.

Can I bring my own sewing machine to class?
For most beginner classes, we ask that you use ours (they’re great and already threaded). For advanced workshops, bring your own if you’re comfy with it—just ask us first to be sure.

What’s your return policy?
Short version: unopened stuff = returnable within 30 days. Cut fabric, patterns, and sale items = final sale. Check out our full Return Policy for the fine print.

What if I miss a class?
We get it—life happens. If you let us know in advance, we’ll do our best to reschedule or offer store credit if we can fill your spot. Last-minute no-shows = not eligible for credit. Full details are in our Class Policies.

Do you offer private lessons?
Yes! One-on-one sessions are $50/hour and tailored to you. Want to learn your own machine? Need help with a tricky project? We got you.

Can I just drop in and ask for help?
We love helping—but please check our Help Session schedule or book a private lesson. Not all staff are pros in every craft, and we can’t always give you the time you deserve on the fly.

Do you sell gift cards?
Yes! In-store and online. Great for crafty people who are picky (in the best way).

What’s your vibe?
Cozy, colorful, community-powered. We believe making things by hand is magic—and that everyone is creative (even if they think they’re not).

is there parking?
yep! there’s metered street parking all over media, plus a few municipal lots and some free spots on the side streets if you know where to look. mornings are usually a breeze.

do you offer swatches?
we don’t do tiny swatches, but we do sell all our fabrics in quarter-yard cuts—which makes a great-sized sample and actually gives you something to play with.

what’s a fat quarter?
a fat quarter is ¼ yard of fabric, but instead of being a long skinny strip, it’s cut to be more square-ish—about 18" x 22". handy for quilting, stash building, or when you just want a little taste.
