Pack up your sewing tools, cosmetics, or travel essentials in style! In this class, you’ll sew the Lucy Train Case — a structured, zippered case with a handle and optional interior pockets. Learn techniques for working with stabilizer, installing zippers around curves, and creating a professional, finished look inside and out.
This is a fun and practical project that makes a perfect gift or travel companion. Some sewing experience is recommended — students should be comfortable using a sewing machine and following a pattern.
Skill Level: Confident Beginner / Intermediate - this is not a beginners class
Session: Two 2.5-hour sessions
Materials: Please come to class with your materials cut out. There will not be time to shop during class.

Supplies for large case
- 1/2 yard Exterior Fabric - Canvas works best
- 1/2 yard Lining Fabric
- 1/2 yard or 1 fat quarter Bias Binding Fabric 1
- 1/2 yard Fusible Fleece (Pellon 987F)
- 3/4 yard Fusible Woven Interfacing
- 1 yard #5 Nylon Coil Zipper Tape (1 1⁄4" wide)
- 10 inches 1⁄4” elastic
- Other: 2 zipper pulls for a double-headed zipper
Recommended Fabrics: quilting cotton or lightweight cotton canvas for exterior, quilting cotton for lining and bias binding. All fabric measurements based on 42" width fabric.
