Sewing 201: Exploration of Garment Sewing - Easy Top
The class cost will include the book "The Act of Sewing" by Sonya Philip. We will use this book for future garment classes. The book includes sizes from XS to 5X.
Begin your garment sewing journey by sewing a simple top using cotton. Learn to trace and cut the pattern, sew the pieces together, and finish the seams and edges. This top is an excellent addition to your spring and summer wardrobe.

This class will meet for two 2-hour sessions.
Prior experience: Ability to sew a straight line or completion of a beginner sewing class.
Required materials:
In order to create the best possible results for your garment you will need to pre-purchase your fabric and have it washed, dried, and ironed prior to the first class.
Attached is a copy of the sizing chart. Please select the size based on your measurements and purchase the required fabric. If you have any questions about the amount of fabric you need, anyone in the shop will be able to help you. We will be using cotton fabric for your top. This will make your first garment easier to sew and eliminate frustration.
Fabric requirements:
XS - L 1 1/2 yards of COTTON fabric
XL - 4X 1 3/4 yards of COTTON fabric
5X 2 yards of COTTON fabric
for all sizes you will need 1/2 yard of lightweight fusible interfacing
