Join us for a fun and rewarding knitting class featuring the Ramona Pullover and Cardigan by Elizabeth Smith! These versatile, modern designs are wonderful additions to any handmade wardrobe. Participants will choose which version they would like to knit—the classic pullover or the cozy cardigan.

With guidance from Jil, you’ll work through your chosen pattern while building your knitting skills, learning helpful techniques, and gaining confidence along the way. Whether you prefer a timeless pullover or a layering-friendly cardigan, you’ll enjoy creating a beautiful, handmade garment that you’ll love to wear.

Please note: Participants should purchase the pattern for their chosen version and come prepared with the yarn and needles specified in the pattern or listed below.

Prerequisites: Both the pullover and cardigan are beginner-friendly sweater projects, perfect for knitters ready to move beyond hats and scarves! Participants must be comfortable casting on, knitting and purling, knitting in the round, and casting off. This class is a great next step for building your skills and confidence while creating your first sweater.

Sessions: Five 2-hour sessions

Materials:

The yarn for both sweaters should be a worsted weight held with a mohair.

Suggested yarns: Malabrigo Rios or Knitting for Olive Worsted.

Ramona Raglan Pullover

• Pattern:  purchase here
• Supplies
  • US 10/6 mm 24”/60 cm and 32”/80 cm circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge)
  • US 10/6 mm DPNs for sleeves (or size used to obtain gauge, or a 32”/80 cm circular needle for the magic loop method)
  • US 9/5.5 mm 32”/80 cm circular needle, 16”/40 cm circular needle, and DPNs (or 1 needle size smaller than gauge)
  • Stitch markers
    
  • Tapestry needle
  • 2 pieces of scrap yarn of a lighter weight (approx. 20”/51 cm in length) or barber cords
    

Ramona Cardigan

• Supplies:
  • US 9/5.5 mm 32”/80 cm circular needle (or size needed to obtain gauge)
  • US 9/5.5 mm DPNs (or size used to obtain gauge, or a 32”/80 cm circular needle for the magic loop method
  • US 8/5 mm 32”/80 cm circular needle (or 1 size smaller than gauge for button-band and neck ribbing)
  • Locking stitch markers (for buttonhole placement)
  • Tapestry needle
  • 2 pieces of scrap yarn of a lighter weight (approx. 20”/51 cm in length) or barber cords
  • Buttons: approx. 7 (7, 7, 7, 7, 8) (8, 8, 8, 8, 8) buttons, approx. 7/8”
