Intermediate Weaving - New Skills

Intermediate Weaving - New Skills

Learned the basics of weaving and ready to add more color, shapes, and texture to your work? Join us for a 3-hour workshop in which we delve into intermediate stitches, finishing techniques and shape composition.

In this workshop we will cover rya knots, soumak/braid weave, and creating shapes and color shifts through tapestry weaving. We will also cover finishing techniques, including the hem stitch and twining.

This class is ideal for students who have taken the Intro to Weaving Workshop or who are comfortable with warping and plain weave on a frame loom.

Materials:
BYO Loom, or looms available for purchase. We will provide warp thread and some fibers to get you started.

Students should feel free to bring materials to weave into their work (scrap yarn, fabric pieces, ribbon, rope, etc) and/or a small branch.
