Fair Isle Knitting - Daisy Headband

Fair-Isle knitting is the art of knitting with more than one color in a row to make
knitted color designs in your projects. It is a useful intermediate color-knitting
technique that uses 2 colors per round and the yarn is carried behind the
work. This 2-hour hands-on class will teach you to read a colorwork chart and
2-color stranded color work while knitting in the round.

Materials Needed:
Yarn:
  • 1 skein of Madeline Tosh Pebble or approx. 112 yds/103m of an equivalent DK-weight yarn and 1 skein of Madeline Tosh Silk Cloud or approx. 95 yds/87m of an equivalent lace-weight mohair yarn, mohair yarn held double throughout
Needles and Notions:
  • US 4 (3.50mm) 16"/40cm circular or double-point needles, or size to obtain gauge.
  • stitch markers, 1 in a contrasting color.
  • Darning needle.

Pattern: Homesewn Daisy Headband

Skills needed:  casting on, knitting and purling in the
round and binding off.
