Sewing 204: Buckthorn Backpack Class

Create a waxed-canvas zippered backpack with a canvas lining and an oval bottom. The bag has a front pocket for easy access to smaller items and an interior divided pocket for organization.  The backpack has adjustable straps and fits tablets, small laptops and/or notebooks.  The backpack is perfect for projects on the go.

Skill level:  This is an intermediate class using waxed canvas and zipper installation

Class time:  3 two-hour sessions

Materials required - please purchase prior to first class

• Pattern available for purchase at homesewn
• 3/4 yard waxed canvas or canvas (outside of bag)
• 1 yard canvas (bag lining)
• 16" handbag zipper which must be 1.25" wide
• 4 yards cotton webbing 1.5" wide
• (2) 1.5" wide d-rings
• (2) 1.5" swivel snaps
• (2) 1.5" strap sliders
